What is a TDU, and why do I get charges from them if my service is through Ambit?

A TDU (Transmission Distribution Utility) is the local delivery provider in your area. The TDU owns and services the poles and meters, and physically delivers the energy to your home. For this service, the TDU passes through their fees to Ambit (or any other Retail Electric Provider).
